How do I hand over the church to someone else?

A frequently asked question: I set up our church, and now someone else should look after it. How do I pass it on?

The new person must already be a member of the church. Only an Owner can give the Owner role. A church can have several owners.
In the phone or tablet app: in the Church tab, open Members, tap the person's role and choose Transfer church. To confirm, type your church's name. You can also pick your own new role there. Without that step you stay an Owner too.
In the browser there's no separate button:
Go to Admin → Settings → Members.
In the person's Role column, choose Owner.
Change your own role in the same column, or stay an Owner.
The last Owner can't be demoted or removed, so give the role to the other person first.
