Click for the band: at rehearsal and on Sunday
You don't need a mixer or in-ear system for a shared click. Everyone hears it in their own headphones, from their own phone or tablet, and WorshipPro keeps them all together. One person leads, and everyone else follows with a code. Try it at a rehearsal first, so that Sunday is the second time, not the first.
Decide who runs it
Pick one person, usually the leader or the drummer. In the app, any signed-in member of the church can lead. If you follow and your role has the Band click & tempo permission, you can control the click too, so the drummer can take over mid-rehearsal. The panel then says "Click from the leader — you can control it too". Owner, Administrator, Leader and Musician have that permission by default.
Both the click and page following need internet. Check the signal where the band stands, on the church Wi-Fi or on mobile data, before you plan around them.
Rehearsal, step by step
The person leading:
- Open stage mode, ideally from the service plan.
- Tap the click button (a metronome with the tempo).
- In the Band section, tap Lead the band (click for everyone).
- Show the Code for the band: 6 digits and a QR code.
Everyone else:
- Church tab → Follow the leader (the antenna icon at the top).
- Type the code and tap Follow the leader, or tap Scan QR code.
- Stage mode opens with a "Following the leader" bar.
Then, song by song:
- Set the tempo with −5, −1, +1, +5 or Tap tempo. If the song has a saved tempo, Song tempo offers a Set button.
- Choose Count-in: None, 1 bar or 2 bars.
- Tap Start for the band. Everyone hears it, and every tempo change too. A new tempo starts at the next bar line.
- When the tempo feels right, save it to the plan or the song, so Sunday starts from that number.
Each person sets their own sound under My monitor: volume, Accent on beat one, Subdivision (quarters, eighths, triplets, sixteenths) and Mute on my device. These settings are personal, so the drummer can have sixteenths while the singers hear only quarters.
If you tick Band’s pages turn with mine, pages turn for everyone along with the leader. Turn a page yourself and you'll see "Detached — you’re turning pages yourself". Back to leader reconnects you.
Headphones and Bluetooth delay
Wired headphones are the best choice. Bluetooth delays the sound by about 150–250 ms, and the amount differs from phone to phone. In a band that's enough to pull people apart.
If someone has to use Bluetooth, have them calibrate before playing:
- Click panel → Calibrate by tapping.
- Tap along with the click, 10 times.
The app remembers the correction separately for each kind of output: speaker, wired headphones and Bluetooth. A different pair of Bluetooth headphones needs a new calibration.
Network delay isn't the issue here. Each device plays the click by itself, using a shared clock, and the panel shows "Clock synced (±N ms)". If that line is missing, wait a moment for the device to sync.
A speaker works for a quick test, but it's a poor idea on stage: a microphone will pick up the click.
On Sunday
- At sound check, the leader starts leading and the band joins with the code. Don't leave this for the last five minutes.
- Everyone checks headphones and volume with the click running.
- For each song, the leader starts the click with the saved tempo, count-in on.
- Stop the click when a song ends, so nobody has it running through the prayer.
Keep a plain plan B: the drummer or leader counts in by voice, and anyone uncomfortable with the click mutes it with Mute on my device. No one in the band has to use it for it to work for the others.
If the connection drops
On iPhone and iPad, a click that's already running keeps playing, because each device plays it itself. But tempo changes and Stop won't reach anyone who lost the connection. So when the internet goes, finish the song, then let people mute or leave the session. Songs and plans stay on the device. For the wider picture, see The internet went down during the service.
In a browser
On worshippro.net: Music → Charts → a service → ⋯ in the top bar → under Lead, click Lead the team. You get a follow code, a QR code and Copy team link. Musicians open the link in a browser, or type the code in the app. Only people who can edit plans see the Lead section. With the Musician role, you lead the click from the app.
