Band click and following the presentation

Two things that keep the band together without cables or mixers:

    • band click — the leader runs the metronome, and everyone hears it in their own headphones at the same moment,
    • following — chart and sheet music pages turn by themselves: following the leader, or following what's on the projector.

Both need internet. A click on your own device doesn't.

    Click on your own device

In stage mode (The app for musicians: iPhone, iPad and Android), tap the click button (a metronome with the tempo). In the Click panel:

    • Tempo: −5, −1, +1, +5, the slider or Tap tempo; Time signature (e.g. 4/4, 6/8),
    • Song tempo — Set, if the song has a saved tempo; the leader can save a new tempo to the plan or to the song,
    • Count-in: None, 1 bar, 2 bars,
    • My monitor: volume, Mute on my device, Accent on beat one, Subdivision (quarters, eighths, triplets, sixteenths).

The big button under Count-in starts the click. On iPhone and iPad in English it says Home by mistake. That's still the start button. On Android it says Start.

    Leader: "Lead the band"
    1. Open stage mode, ideally from a service plan.
    2. Click panel → Band section → Lead the band (click for everyone).
    3. The Code for the band appears: 6 digits and a QR code (on Android, digits and a link). Show it to the band. If it doesn't appear, tap Code and QR in the bar.
    4. A bar stays at the top: "Leading the band · code … · followers: N", with the Code and QR and ✕ (Stop leading) buttons.

When you tap Start for the band, the whole band hears the click, and every tempo change too. A new tempo kicks in at the next bar line. The Band’s pages turn with mine option turns the pages for everyone at once (with a service plan).

In the app, any signed-in member of the church can lead. If you follow the leader and your role has the Band click & tempo permission (by default Owner, Administrator, Leader and Musician), you can control the click too. The Click panel then shows "Click from the leader — you can control it too". So the drummer can take over the click.

    Musician: "Follow the leader"
    1. Church tab → Follow the leader (the antenna icon at the top).
    2. Type the code and tap Follow the leader, or tap Scan QR code: once it's scanned, you join straight away.
    3. Stage mode opens with a "Following the leader" bar. You hear the leader's click, and pages turn along with the leader.

If you turn a page yourself, you'll see "Detached — you’re turning pages yourself". Back to leader turns following back on. ✕ stops following.

    Headphones and delay
    • Wired headphones are best. Bluetooth delays the sound by about 150–250 ms, and it's different on every phone.
    • With Bluetooth headphones, calibrate the delay: Click panel → Calibrate by tapping → tap along with the click (10 times). The app remembers the correction separately for each kind of output: the speaker, wired headphones and Bluetooth. After switching to a different pair of Bluetooth headphones, calibrate again.
    • Each device plays the click itself, synced by a shared clock ("Clock synced (±N ms)"), so network delay doesn't get in the way.
    Click in the browser

On worshippro.net: Music → Charts → a service → ⋯ in the top bar → under Lead, click Lead the team. You get a follow code, a QR code and Copy team link. Musicians open the link in a browser, signed in to your church, or type the code in the app.

Only people who can edit plans (e.g. Leader, Administrator) see the Lead section. With the Musician role you'll see an inactive Follow code row there instead, and you lead the click from the app.

Following the presentation from the computer

When someone at the projector turns on Lead the musicians (Phones in the room: text on phones, remote and leading the musicians), musicians on that service's roster, and anyone with the Band click & tempo permission (e.g. the Musician or Leader role), see two new items in the plan, in the app:

    • Follow presentation — your own charts scroll by themselves to the part that's on the projector (verse, chorus). With sheet music, PDFs, chord grids and Scripture you go to the right item, and the bar at the top shows the current part. In the form bar, the part on the projector has a screen icon. If you turn a page yourself, following stops. Back to presentation resumes it.
    • Musicians' screen — the same as the stage display on stage: lyrics with chords, the next slide, messages and the timer. On your own device you choose Layout and Capo.

In the browser, the same people see Follow the presentation on the plan page. It opens perform mode, which turns pages by itself.

These items aren't there when no presentation is running or Lead the musicians is off, or when you're not on that service's roster and don't have the Band click & tempo permission. That's normal.
