Your church website: pages and public address
WorshipPro can give your church a simple website with no separate hosting: a home page, subpages, upcoming events, sermons and sign-up forms. The same pages appear for members in a Church menu, so you only prepare them once.
Every member can read published pages under Mine → Church. Creating and changing pages takes Church settings: Manage (Owner, Administrator). They'll see Manage pages and Open public page there.
Your address
The public address is
worshippro.net/k/your-church. The last part is the Address (slug) you chose when creating the church. You can't change it in settings. Each subpage adds its own address, e.g.worshippro.net/k/your-church/about.Until you publish a home page, this address shows "Page not found".
Build the home page
- Mine → Church → Manage pages.
- In New page, type a title, e.g. Welcome. The address fills in by itself. Click Create. Your first page becomes the home page, and a new page starts as a Draft.
- At the bottom, choose a block type and click Add block. Add as many as you need, and use the arrows to set the order.
- Click Save, and Preview shows the page as a member sees it.
- In Page settings, set Status to Published and Who can see it to Everyone (also without an account). Click Save.
- Go back with All pages, then click the link icon next to the page to see the public version.
Blocks
- Text:
##heading,**bold**,*italic*,-list and[link text](https://…). HTML tags aren't allowed. - Image: pick an image from Media, add Alternative text and a Caption.
- Button: Button text and an Address, either https or a path starting with
/. - Group list: groups marked as public, with a link to join. It doesn't show meeting addresses or members.
- Upcoming events: choose how many, how many Days ahead and which Event types. It shows only the name and time. On the public page, only services and events appear.
- Sign-up form: shows while the form is open and has a public link.
- Sermons: the latest published ones. On the public page, only sermons from the public archive.
- Live stream: appears only during a stream set on a plan or event, and shows just the link.
Some blocks hide themselves when there's nothing to show. A block with no open form, no public groups or no upcoming events doesn't appear, and Preview tells you why.
Don't use the Giving block: online giving isn't available yet, so it stays hidden.
More pages
Add subpages in the same way, e.g. About us or Contact. A page can be Members only: it appears in the church menu after signing in, but not on the public site. That suits information for volunteers.
Under Page settings, Search engine description is the short text (up to 300 characters) shown in search results and when someone shares the link. Tick Church home page (address without a subpage) to move the home page to another page.
You can have 30 pages, with 40 blocks each.
The church menu
The Church menu at the bottom of Manage pages sets what members see under Mine → Church and what shows at the top of the public site.
- Use the arrows to change the order, and Hide or Show for each item.
- Besides your pages, the list has shortcuts: Sermons, Calendar, Groups, Give and Announcements.
- To add an outside link, type the Link name and Link address and click Add link. Only https addresses or paths starting with
/work. - Click Save menu when you're done.
The public site shows only what works without an account: public pages, the sermon archive if it's on, the group list if there are public groups, and links. Calendar and Announcements stay for members.
What's visible without signing in
- published pages set to Everyone (also without an account),
- the sermon archive, if it's on:
/k/your-church/kazania, - the list of public groups:
/g/your-church, - open forms, for anyone with the link.
Everything else needs an account: the directory, the full calendar, announcements, members-only pages and drafts. Drafts and members-only pages also stay out of search engines.
The home page shows your church's name, and the footer says it's a church page on WorshipPro. A page can be shared by its link right away, but search engines take time to find it. Own domains aren't available: the address is always on
worshippro.net.In the phone app
The Android app has Church → Church pages with the same menu and pages, read-only. The App Store version for iPhone and iPad has no such screen, so members can open the pages in a browser. Pages are edited only in the browser.
What to watch out for
- Blocks that show nothing publicly. A page can look full to you and thinner to guests, because events, sermons and groups follow the rules above. Check with Open public page.
- Changing a page's address. Old links stop working, so update them.
- Personal data. Whatever you type into a text block is public. Don't put private addresses or phone numbers on a page set to Everyone.
