Creating a church ends with an error at the last step

What happens

You reach the end of the wizard, click Create church, and see a short technical error in red, something like API /api/churches → 500. The church isn't created.

The usual cause is that another church already uses the Address (slug) you chose on the first step. The wizard checks the format of the address, but it doesn't check whether it's taken.

Who it affects

Anyone creating a church in the browser, usually with a short or common church name.

Workaround

1. Click ← Back until you reach the first step. What you've typed stays.
2. Change Address (slug), for example by adding your town.
3. Go forward to the end and click Create church again.

If that doesn't help

If the error stays with an unusual address, report it and quote the error exactly.
