Sunday without internet

Internet in the church building is often poor. The desktop app keeps a copy of songs, plans and themes on the disk, so you can run the service without a network. You just need to get ready while you still have internet.

    The day before (with internet)
    1. On the projector computer, sign in at least once with your email and password (the Sign in button). Without internet you can only sign in to an account that has already signed in with a password on this computer. Signing in with Apple or Google doesn't make this possible.
    2. Install a Bible: Settings → Bible & offline → Offline Bible → Get more translations → Install.
    3. Open the plan in Services and click Prepare service. The app downloads the media, the theme background, presentation pages and the verse texts. At the end you'll see Service prepared, and Ready to work offline on the plan. If you see Prepared with gaps instead, check the list of what's missing and click again.
    4. Backgrounds and videos outside the plan that you might need: click Keep offline on them in Media, after Prepare service. This is a cache, so when it goes over its limit (4 GB by default), the next Prepare service can remove files the plan doesn't use. If you prepare the plan again on Sunday morning, check them once more.
    5. Do a test run: turn off Wi-Fi and go through the plan from start to finish. Then you know for sure.
    On Sunday without a network

In the bar at the bottom you'll see Offline. This is a normal way of working, not an error. Clicking it tries to connect again.

    Works without internet:

    • showing songs, plans and themes from the copy on the computer,
    • the projector, stage display, operator monitor and Stream window,
    • the OBS overlay (on this computer and on the local network) and NDI,
    • Black, Clear, Logo, the countdown, messages and timers,
    • built-in backgrounds and downloaded media,
    • the Bible from an installed translation,
    • sermon listening, verse suggestions and captions in the language of the sermon (if the speech model and a Bible are on the computer; not on Linux),
    • changes to the plan — they are saved on the computer and go to the server by themselves when the internet is back ("not sent yet" next to the plan).

    Needs internet:

    • the phone remote, Text on phones, Lead the musicians, the stage display in a browser,
    • saving changes to songs and themes,
    • uploading media and new presentations,
    • installing a Bible, importing, updates,
    • Prepare service itself.

Signing in without internet: enter your email and password as usual. You'll see "Signed in without internet" — you're working on the copy from this computer.

    The team's phones and iPads
    • Your church's songs and plans are saved in the app and work without a network.
    • Download songbook scores ahead of time: Songs → Songbooks → pick a songbook → Download scores for offline use.
    • The Bible in the app works offline.
    • Band click and following the presentation need internet.
    Weak internet instead of none

If there is internet but it's weak, the app works on the copy and syncs in the background. Changes from the web and from phones come through when the connection is back. If someone changes the plan during the service, you'll see "Plan updated from the server".
