The Give button on our giving page says thank you, but no money is taken
What happens
The public giving page always shows an amount form with a Give button. Today that button takes no money. The donor goes straight to a page that says “Thank you!” and “Your gift has been received. We will send a confirmation to the email address you provided.”
No payment happens, no donation is recorded and no confirmation is sent.
Bank transfer details further down the same page work, including the QR code.
Who it affects
Verified churches using PLN that have ticked Giving page is live (public). You can't hide the form or the button.
Workaround
If you don't need the page right now:
- Go to Finance → Settings → Online payments, section Giving page.
- Untick Giving page is live (public) and click Save. The link now shows “Giving page unavailable”, so nobody can get a false thank-you.
If you want to keep the page for bank transfers:
- Wherever you share the link, say clearly: please use Bank transfer details and don't use the Give button.
- Enter each transfer yourself as a New donation, or import a statement. Gifts don't record themselves. See online giving and QR codes.
If someone may already have used the button, tell them nothing was charged and ask them to give by bank transfer.
If that doesn't help
If you're not sure whether the page is live, open it in a private browser window. If you see anything else that looks wrong, report it.
