Running a service in Show
Show (
⌘1) is the operator's station. Everything is on one screen, and you can run the whole service from the keyboard. The previews show the slides exactly as the room will see them. The countdown, the message for the room, the QR code and the sermon captions appear only on the projector itself. Shortcuts are written for Mac: on Windows and Linux, press Ctrl instead of ⌘ and Alt instead of ⌥ (⇧ is Shift). What's where
- Left — the PLAN panel (the service plan) at the top, and under it the library with the tabs Songs, Bible, Media and Sermon. You can drag the border between the plan and the library.
- Middle — the slides of the current item. For songs, above them you'll find the form bar (e.g. V1 C V2 C) and the slide settings.
- Right — PROJECTOR (what is on screen now) and under it PREVIEW · NEXT (what comes up next). Below that are the Go live / Stop button and the icons: moon (Black), picture (Clear) and cross (Logo) — hover to see the name and key. Then come the STAGE DISPLAY, MAIN SCREEN, TIMERS and MESSAGE FOR THE MUSICIANS panels.
- Bottom — the media bar: backgrounds and audio.
Getting started
- In the PLAN panel, pick the service (by default the one that's running, or the next one). There is also No plan (ad-hoc queue).
- Click Start service. The first item loads into the PROJECTOR preview.
- If your projector is assigned in Settings → Displays, the picture appears on it by itself. If not, click Go live (or press
F5). With no screen assigned, the output goes full screen wherever its window opens — even on the screen you're working on. Get back withEscor the Back to the panel button.
If
→does nothing right after the projector comes on, click once in the main window. The keyboard stays with the projector window until you do.Clicking any item in the plan also starts the service from that point. Once the service is running, a click jumps to that item.
Slides
→,SpaceorEnter— next slide;←— previous slide. After the last slide of a song, the next plan item comes up.- Click a thumbnail to show that slide.
1–9— jump to the slide with that number;G— Go to slide (type the number, pressEnter).R— back to the chorus.⇧→/⇧←— next / previous plan item.- Form bar above the slides: click a part (e.g. “B”) to show its first slide.
The previous and next slide buttons are also on the bar at the bottom of the window.
Black, Clear, Logo
- Black (
Bor.) — a black screen, - Clear (
C) — only the background stays, no text, - Logo (
L) — the logo from the theme (with no logo image, a text wordmark, if the theme has it turned on).
Each button works as an on/off switch. Moving to the next or previous slide (
→,←,Space,Enter, the buttons at the bottom of the window) or to another plan item turns all of them off. Clicking a thumbnail, a number key,G,Ror a part on the form bar doesn't — click the button again. Note: a running countdown on the main screen wins over Black.Something not in the plan: “+”, “▶” and a click
Every row on the Songs and Media tabs has two buttons:
- + — adds the item to the plan. During a service it goes in as the next item, for example a song someone asked for at the last minute.
- ▶ — puts it on screen right away. In a running plan it is logged on this computer as “off plan” (it isn't added to the team's plan), so after the service you can see what you actually sang.
During a presentation, a plain click on a song or media row doesn't interrupt what's on screen. It cues the item as next — CUED and its title appear above the plan. It goes on screen after the last slide of the current item, and then the plan carries on. Changed your mind? On screen now shows it right away, and ✕ removes it from the queue. The Songs and Bible views offer the same choice with the Next and On screen now buttons.
The Bible works differently: on the Bible tab a typed passage has Add to plan and On screen buttons, and clicking a verse found by a word search puts it on screen right away.
Keyboard in the library:
⌘Kor/takes you to the song search.Enterputs the item on screen (during a presentation, it cues it as next),⇧Entershows it now,⌘Dadds it to the plan. You can also drag library rows to any spot in the plan. Move a plan item with
⌥↑/⌥↓, and remove it with the ✕ button on the item or theDeletekey. During a service, clicking an item jumps to it, so use ✕ to remove it. An item saved in the plan disappears from the plan for the whole team (the app asks first).Text size
The header of the PROJECTOR preview has the A− and A+ buttons (or the
−and+keys). Click the percentage to go back to 100%. The setting is remembered for that song. More about song slides: Songs on screen: slide split, text size, form and quick fixes. The Bible during the service
⌘Bopens the Bible. TypeRom 8:28-30and pressEnter— with Click = on screen ticked (the default), the passage goes on screen right away, and clicking another verse shows it at once too. Details: The Bible on screen.Second language
If your songs have a translation, a Second language field appears in the MAIN SCREEN panel. The translation shows under each line in a smaller font. The stage display stays with the original.
For volunteers: “Follow the plan”
The list icon next to the projector buttons opens Follow the plan: three big buttons, Back, Next and Black. It's a good fit for someone sitting at the projector for the first time. Exit (Esc) closes this view. Press
Esconly once: a second press within 1.5 seconds can end the presentation.Finishing
- End in the plan panel leaves plan mode. Whatever is on screen stays there.
- Stop turns the projector off.
When something is loaded and you switch to another view (e.g. Songs), a bar stays at the bottom of the window, above the status bar, with a preview of what's on screen, the slides of the current item and an Open Show button. With the projector off, it says SCREEN OFF.
