Nothing on the projector: what to check, in order

  1. EmanuelWorshipPro

Start with the bottom left corner of the main window. That label says what WorshipPro thinks the projector is doing, and it tells you which section to read:

    • OFF or SCREEN OFF — the app isn't sending anything: section 1,
    • ON SCREEN — the app is sending, so look at the screen: section 2,
    • BLACK SCREEN, TEXT HIDDEN or LOGO — that was asked for: section 3.

Shortcuts are for Mac: on Windows, press Ctrl instead of ⌘.

    1. OFF or SCREEN OFF
    • OFF with No item selected: nothing is loaded, so Go live is greyed out. Click Start service in the PLAN panel, or pick a song.
    • SCREEN OFF: something is loaded, but the projector is off. Click Go live or press F5.

The projector turns on by itself only when a saved screen appears, when you choose a screen in Settings, or when the app starts. After Stop it stays off until you click Go live.

    2. ON SCREEN, but the wall is empty or wrong

    Go through these in order:

    1. The projector itself: is it on, on the right input, and does it say "no signal"? Try another cable or adapter.
    2. Settings → Displays: read the line Detected N monitors. If it counts only your own screen, the computer doesn't see the projector, or the screens are mirrored. WorshipPro needs them extended: System Settings → Displays on a Mac, Win+P → Extend on Windows. Then click Refresh.
    3. Click Show screen numbers. A big number appears on every screen for a few seconds. No number on the projector means the problem is between the computer and the projector, not in WorshipPro.
    4. Check Main output. Window (default) means no screen is chosen, or the saved projector isn't connected right now. Pick the right number. The list is greyed out while the projector is on, so click Stop first.

Still nothing? Match what you see below.

The picture covers your own screen. With no screen assigned, Go live and F5 fill the screen you're working on. Press Esc or click Back to the panel, then fix Main output.

The projector and the band's monitor are swapped. Two identical screens without a serial number are told apart by their order. Click Stop, close the stage display, and pick both again using the screen numbers.

The wall shows only a logo, and the bottom left says ON SCREEN with No item selected. The projector is on, but nothing is loaded. Click Start service.

A small window sits on the projector. Someone pressed Esc in the projector window. The presentation is still running. Click Stop, then Go live.

The cable came out during the service. The system may move the picture onto your screen. If it covers the panel, press Esc. Plug the cable back in, then click Stop and Go live: the picture doesn't jump back by itself while the output is still on.

The computer went to sleep. WorshipPro doesn't prevent that. Wake it up and turn off sleep and the screen saver in your system settings.

    3. The background is there, but no text
    • BLACK SCREEN, TEXT HIDDEN, LOGO: press the same key again (B, C, L) or click the lit button. → to the next slide also clears them.
    • A countdown or a timer on the main screen pushes the slide text aside, and a countdown wins over Black. Stop it in the MAIN SCREEN or TIMERS panel.
    • The QR board does the same: click Take the QR off the screen.
    • The slide may be empty on purpose: a song with Slide before set to Blank starts on one. Press →.
    • The text is there, but you can't read it: try Stronger contrast (bright room) in Settings → Slides, or another theme.

Other things that look like a fault:

    • Song missing in the plan: the song was deleted, so clicking the item changes nothing on the wall. Replace it, or use ⌘K to find a copy.
    • Slide 3 — file missing on a presentation, or a plain background instead of your image: that file isn't on this computer. Click Prepare service if you have internet.
    4. The keys do nothing

The keyboard works in the window you clicked last. After Go live, or after opening the stage display, it can stay in that window, and the projector window only reacts to Esc. Click once in the main window. If you were typing in a search box, the keys are going there: click outside it.

    5. The band's screen

The stage display is a separate window: ⌘⇧S. Waiting for operator… means nothing is loaded yet. A message sent while it's closed shows up once it opens.

    Last resort

Quit and reopen the app. You'll see a bar asking about the unsaved session: click Restore session. If the status bar says SCREEN OFF, click Go live. The plan doesn't resume by itself, so click the next item in the PLAN panel.

Don't spend the whole song on this. Tell the leader, press B, and fix it between songs. If you're stuck, check Known problems, or post in Bug reports with the version from Settings → About.
