Screens: projector, stage display and operator monitor
The desktop app can drive up to three extra screens:
- the main screen — the projector or TV for the room,
- the stage display — a monitor or TV facing the band: chords, the next slide, a clock, messages,
- the operator monitor — a second monitor at your desk where you see “now” and “next”.
The projector alone is enough. The other screens are optional.
Shortcuts are written for Mac: on Windows and Linux, press Ctrl instead of ⌘ and Alt instead of ⌥ (⇧ is Shift).
1. Connect the screens and assign them once
- Connect the projector (and a monitor for the musicians, if you have one) to the computer. In your system settings, set them up as separate screens, not as a mirror (on a Mac: System Settings → Displays; on Windows: Win+P → Extend; on Linux: your desktop's display settings).
- In WorshipPro, open Settings → Displays.
- You'll see “Detected N monitors”. If one is missing, click Refresh.
- Click Show screen numbers. A large number, the screen's name and its resolution appear on every screen for a few seconds. The screen with the app also says “The app is on this screen”.
- Choose the screens:
- Main output — the projector (e.g. “Monitor 2 · 1920×1080 (screen name)”),
- Stage display output — the stage display,
- Operator monitor — a second monitor at your desk (Same screen as the app by default).
Done. Your choice is saved on this computer. The app recognizes screens by model and serial number, so it doesn't matter which port you plug them into.
2. A picture as soon as the screen appears
The Send output as soon as a saved screen is detected option is on by default. The projector (and the stage display, if it has a screen assigned) turns on by itself:
- when you choose a screen in Settings,
- when you plug in a saved screen,
- when the app starts.
When a saved screen appears, the app doesn't cover the screen you're working on. Start service is the exception: if Main output is set to the screen with the app, starting the service covers it. Get back with
Escor the Back to the panel button.3. Turn the projector on and off
- In Show, pick something to show (a song, a verse or a plan item) and click Go live (or press
F5or⌘Enter). The button changes to Stop. Until something is picked, the button is greyed out. - Stop turns off the picture on the projector.
- Pressing
Esctwice (within 1.5 seconds) in the main window ends the presentation. After the first press you'll see a hint. - If
→does nothing right after the projector or stage display opens, the keyboard is still on that window. Click once in the main window. Until you do,Escalso goes to the new window and turns it into a small one (section 6).
If you haven't chosen a screen (Window (default)), the Go live button in the right column,
F5and⌘Enteropen the presentation full screen wherever its window appears — even on the screen you're working on. Get back withEscor the Back to the panel button. The Go live button in the status bar at the bottom opens it in a normal window instead.Settings → Displays also has the Open output window (windowed) and Fullscreen on selected monitor buttons.
4. The stage display
Open it in Show, in the STAGE DISPLAY panel (the people icon), with
⌘⇧S, or in Settings (Open stage display). It always fills a whole screen: the assigned one; if there isn't one (or it isn't connected), the only other screen; if there are no other screens, or several, the screen the app is on. So with three screens, assign it in Settings. On the stage display:
For a double-click turns full screen on and off,Escturns it into a normal window.
What it shows and how to set it up: Stage display, messages and timers.
You can also open the stage display in a browser on any device (e.g. a TV with a browser, or a tablet): Phones in the room: text on phones, remote and leading the musicians.
5. The operator monitor
⌘⇧M, or the monitor icon in Show (Open operator monitor). It shows a large NOW and NEXT, a clock, the item number in the plan, the message for the musicians and a strip of slides. The slide, screen and plan keys work on this screen:→,Space,Enter,←,1–9,Home,End,R,B,C,L,⇧→and⇧←.↑,↓,G, text size and doubleEscwork only in the main window.6. The projector window — what to watch for
Escon the projector turns it into a small window in the corner, but the presentation keeps going. To get back to full screen, click Stop, then Go live again.- Closing the projector or stage display window (on a Mac
⌘W, on every system ✕ Close on the bar that slides in when you move the mouse to the top edge) works like Stop — the app doesn't reopen it. Turn the projector back on with Go live, and the stage display with⌘⇧S. - When the projector is on the screen you're working on, moving the mouse shows a Back to the panel button.
- A cable came loose during the service? The app doesn't bring the picture back by itself. Plug the screen in, then click Stop and Go live. For the stage display, press
⌘⇧Stwice.
A tip for Sunday
Set up your screens during the week, on the same computer and with the same cable. On Sunday, the picture appears by itself once you plug in the projector.
