First church setup — a checklist

  1. EmanuelWorshipPro

Your church is set up. Before you invite your team, spend fifteen minutes on the settings below. Almost all of them are in the browser, at worshippro.net. Only the slide look (step 8) is set in the desktop app. You'll find most of them in the menu on the left: Admin → Settings.

    1. Church profile

    Settings → General, Profile tab:

    • Church name.
    • Language — the interface switches right away. Once saved, it's also the language of the emails your church sends. Check this field before you click Save: it starts on the language you're viewing the page in, not the one saved for the church, and saving the form saves it too.
    • Timezone — the one from the wizard (suggested from your computer). Check it so service and reminder times are right.
    • Currency — used for prices in sign-up forms and amounts in emails. The Finance module always works in PLN.
    • Registry details — NIP (tax ID) and REGON, for churches in Poland. The section shows up when the interface is in Polish or the numbers are already filled in. They're optional.
    • CCLI licence — your CCLI License #, and if you stream your services, also your CCLI Streaming License #. The desktop app shows the licence number in the copyright footer of songs that have a CCLI Song #, and the stream output shows the streaming licence number. More: Statistics and CCLI.

    Click Save.

    2. Security
    • Turn on 2FA for your account. See step 6 in Your account and a new church, step by step.
    • People who manage the directory or church settings, and anyone with a Finance permission, always need 2FA. The Security tab lists them.
    • On the same tab you can turn on Require 2FA from everyone who can see the people directory. That includes Leaders, who only view it. We recommend it if your directory holds many people's details.

Anyone the rule covers has 14 days to turn on 2FA, counted from when the rule starts to apply to them. After that, People, Finance and Church settings are locked for them until they do. The rest of their account keeps working. More: Security and privacy.

    3. Modules

Modules tab → Church modules. Turn off what you don't use (e.g. Finance or Sunday school), and the menu gets shorter for everyone. The data stays, and you can turn a module back on at any time. Modules marked “core” can't be turned off.

    4. Songbooks

Music → Songs, Songbooks tab. On the songbook you sing from, click Add to church. All its songs appear right away. Details: Songs: songbooks, new songs and moving from another program.

    5. Service types

Planning → Services, Service types tab. Under Add service type, type a name, e.g. “Sunday service”, “Prayer meeting” or “Youth night”, and click Add. The type shows up as a label on the list of plans, so they're easy to filter.

    6. Teams

Planning → Teams → Add team, e.g. Worship, Tech, Welcome. In a team you add positions (Vocals, Guitar, Projection…) and people. Details: Service plans and serving rosters.

    7. Serving reminders

Settings → Reminders, Serving reminders section. Set Hours before and Channel, then click Save reminders. Until you save this, no reminders go out. A good start is 48 hours before, channel Both (Email and Push). If someone doesn't have the app, Push falls back to email.

Skip the Text message channels for now. A text message account can't be set up yet, so those reminders go out as email or push anyway.

Not every plan gets a reminder yet. See “Reminders before serving” in Service plans and serving rosters.

    8. How slides look

You set the slide theme (font, background, logo, layout) in the desktop app, under Themes. You start with the WorshipPro Standard theme. Guide: How slides look: themes and layout.

    9. After your church is verified

Once your church is verified (the owner then gets the Your church is verified email), these unlock on the Integrations tab:

    • API tokens and the AI assistant (MCP), for people who connect WorshipPro with other tools. See Integrations.
    • AI suggestions in WorshipPro. No AI is connected yet, so the drafts come from your church's own history.

You can also turn on Live translation, but the translator isn't connected yet, so captions stay in the language of the sermon. See Sermon: verse suggestions, live translation and captions.

Webhooks, text messages and online giving can't be set up yet, even in a verified church.

    Good to know
    • The Audit log tab shows who changed what in your church.
    • The Privacy (GDPR) tab is for exporting the data linked to your own account and requesting its deletion.
    • You can add the church calendar and your own serving to Google, Apple or Outlook: Planning → Calendar → Subscribe. Details: Support → Calendar in Google, Apple and Outlook.
