Move from WorshipTools

If your church has been using WorshipTools, you can bring your songs, services and PDF sheet music over to WorshipPro — no retyping. We only read your data: nothing changes or disappears in WorshipTools. The move is started by someone who can manage the church settings in WorshipPro.

WorshipTools is a separate program made by another company. WorshipPro is not affiliated with it — this page only explains how to move your own church's data.

What we move

  • songs: title, author, CCLI, copyright, key, tempo, tags, lyrics with chords (or the slide text when a song only has slides) and section order; each gets the "worshiptools" tag so you can filter them in Songs,
  • services as plans: past ones as completed, with singing history ("last sung" statistics) and no notifications to the team; upcoming ones as draft plans,
  • Scripture readings from services,
  • PDF sheet music as song attachments — if you want.

What we don't move

  • people, volunteers, schedules and availability — this is personal data; you can load your people list from a CSV file in People,
  • backgrounds, presentation media and audio recordings,
  • Presenter settings and Loop Connect.

What you need

A computer with a browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari), your WorshipTools sign-in and a few minutes — up to a quarter of an hour for a large library with sheet music. The move doesn't work on phones or tablets.

Step by step

1. Open the import in WorshipPro

On a computer, sign in at worshippro.net, open Settings → "Move your data from another program" and choose WorshipTools. The first screen recaps what we move. Click "Next — prepare the bookmark".

2. Drag the bookmark to the bookmarks bar

Drag the "Move to WorshipPro" button to your browser's bookmarks bar — don't click it on the WorshipPro page. Can't see the bar? Show it with Ctrl+Shift+B (Windows) or ⌘+Shift+B (Mac). If you also want to move PDF sheet music, tick that box before dragging (after changing it, drag the bookmark again).

The bookmark carries a one-time import code for your church. The code is valid for 30 minutes; while data is being sent the deadline moves on (3 hours at most).

3. Sign in to WorshipTools

Click "Open WorshipTools" — the Charts page opens in a new tab. Sign in as usual. You type your password only on the WorshipTools page.

4. Click the bookmark on the WorshipTools page

On the Charts page, once signed in, click the "Move to WorshipPro" bookmark. A small progress window appears. Keep that tab open until the window says "Done".

The bookmark does nothing? Some browsers don't run bookmarks on other sites. In that case click "Copy for the console" in the wizard, press F12 on the WorshipTools page (on a Mac ⌥⌘J), choose "Console", paste and press Enter. Chrome may first ask you to type "allow pasting".

5. Wait for the data

Go back to the WorshipPro tab — progress (songs, services, PDF sheet music) shows up on its own, and the preview opens once everything has arrived.

6. Review the preview

Before anything is saved you see what is coming: songs with chords and from slides, past and upcoming services, sheet music and how much space it takes. Songs your church already has are flagged — skip them or add them as new. Untick anything you don't want to bring over.

7. Set the switches and save

  • "Save songs as drafts" — off by default: songs are active in your library right away. Turn it on if you want to review them first.
  • "Singing history" — on by default: past services fill in the song statistics.
  • "PDF sheets" — on by default when sheet music was sent and fits in your church's file storage.

Click "Import selected". A large import is saved in the background with a progress bar. At the end you get a report with numbers, links to songs and plans, and a list of warnings (downloadable as CSV).

In the WorshipPro desktop app

In the desktop app open Settings → "Import from another program…" (or "Import…" in Songs) and on the WorshipTools tile click "Open WorshipTools". WorshipTools opens in a separate app window — sign in there yourself and start the export. No bookmark needed. The preview, switches and report are the same as in the browser.

If sending fails, the window saves a data file to your Downloads folder — then click "Send the downloaded file…". We have tested the move in the app on a Mac; if something doesn't work on Windows, use the browser.

Privacy and security

  • You don't give us your WorshipTools password. You sign in only on the WorshipTools page.
  • Your WorshipTools sign-in never reaches us. The bookmark sends only the export data (songs, services, sheet music), marked with a one-time import code — no WorshipTools cookies or sign-in tokens.
  • Read-only. The bookmark reads what your account can already see and changes nothing in WorshipTools. All of its code is inside the bookmark itself — it doesn't load anything from elsewhere.
  • No personal data about people. We don't move people, volunteers or schedules.
  • Short-lived. Data fetched for the preview is kept for 14 days at most. Sheet music you don't save to songs is deleted with it. "Discard fetched data" in the preview deletes it right away.

Plan B: a file from WorshipTools

When the bookmark can't connect to WorshipPro (e.g. because of the page's security settings or a company network), the window on WorshipTools downloads a wt-export-….json file instead and tells you so. In the wizard click "Upload a file (plan B)" (or "Already have a file from WorshipTools? Upload it" on the first screen) and drag the file in. The file has no PDF sheet music — you can add it later with the bookmark once the connection works.

Frequently asked questions

The bookmark doesn't work

Make sure you click it on the WorshipTools (Charts) page, after signing in — not on the WorshipPro page. If nothing happens, use "Copy for the console" (step 4). If that fails too, the window downloads a file — upload it as in plan B.

"The import code has expired"

The code works for 30 minutes after it is created. In the wizard click "Create a new code" and drag the bookmark to the bar again — the old bookmark has the old code, you can delete it.

The bookmark says it is outdated

Reload the import page in WorshipPro and drag the new bookmark. In the desktop app — update the app.

Not enough space for PDF sheet music

Sheet music counts towards your church's file storage: 200 MB while the church is waiting for verification and 10 GB once it is verified (we usually verify within a day). If the sheet music doesn't fit, save the songs and services without it — you can add it later, once the church is verified or after you make room in Media.

Saving stopped halfway

Whatever has been saved stays. Click "Resume saving" — we finish the rest without duplicates.

Can I move the data again?

Yes. The next move recognises what has already come from WorshipTools and adds only what's new — e.g. songs and services added in the meantime, or sheet music that wasn't there the first time.

Something went wrong

In the preview or the report, click "Report a problem with the import". We prepare an email with the import number, the bookmark version and the numbers — no song titles or lyrics; just add what happened. You can also write to contact@worshippro.net.
