The desktop app: installing and first launch
The desktop app runs the presentation: the projector, the stage display for the musicians, the Bible on screen and lower thirds for streaming. It uses the same songs and plans as worshippro.net, and it also works without internet.
Before you start: you create your church in the browser (Your account and a new church, step by step). You can't do that in the desktop app. You can create an account on its sign-in screen (Don't have an account? Create one), but the church still needs the browser.
1. Download and install
Go to worshippro.net/en/download:
- Mac — Download for macOS. Requires macOS 12 (Monterey) or later, with an Apple or Intel processor. Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag WorshipPro into the Applications folder.
- Windows — Download for Windows. Requires Windows 10 or later (64-bit). If a SmartScreen warning appears on first launch, click More info, then Run anyway.
- Linux (beta) — Download for Linux. For 64-bit systems, e.g. Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 38 or later. The AppImage file runs without installing. If it won't start, mark the file as executable in its properties.
Mac has version 0.9.62 and Windows 0.9.61, the versions these guides describe. Linux has the older 0.9.57: Settings is one long page without categories, the ProPresenter 7 tile takes only a single .pro7 file, the Bible's Own text has no Look up button, and imported collections don't get their own tabs in Songs. Sermon listening isn't available on Linux at all.
The app downloads updates by itself (see below).
2. Sign in
On the sign-in screen (Welcome back):
- Type your address in the Email field and your password in the Password field, and click Sign in. You can also click Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google — you finish signing in in your browser, and the app comes back on its own.
- If you have 2FA turned on, type the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and click Verify. This computer is remembered for 30 days.
Important before your first Sunday: sign in on this computer at least once with your password. Only then can you sign in without internet. Signing in with Apple or Google doesn't make that possible. More: Sunday without internet.
3. Pick your church
- If you belong to one church, the app opens it by itself.
- If you belong to several, click one in the Pick a church list. Later you can switch churches in the account menu (click your name at the bottom of the menu on the left), under Churches.
- If you see “You're not a member of any church yet.”, create a church in the browser or ask for an invitation. The list doesn't refresh by itself, so afterwards click Sign out at the top of the screen and sign in again (or quit and reopen the app).
4. Language
The app starts in English. You can switch the language after signing in: click your name at the bottom of the menu on the left and pick EN or PL in the Language row, or go to Settings → General → Language. The app remembers your choice.
5. Look around
The menu on the left (keyboard shortcut in brackets):
- Present: Show (
⌘1) — where you run the service; Sermon (⌘2) — sermon listening and verse suggestions. - Library: Songs (
⌘3), Bible (⌘4), Media (⌘5). - Planning: Services (
⌘6) — service plans. - Workspace: Themes (
⌘7) — how slides look; Settings (⌘8or⌘,).
Shortcuts are written for Mac: on Windows and Linux, press Ctrl instead of ⌘ and Alt instead of ⌥ (⇧ is Shift).
The menu hides by itself and expands when you point at it. If you'd rather see it all the time: Settings → General → Sidebar, and under Behaviour pick Always visible (collapse by clicking the logo).
⌘\collapses and expands the menu. The app always opens in Show. When nothing is loaded, the middle says “Pick something from the library to begin.”
At the bottom of the window is the status bar:
- on the left — what's on screen (OFF when the projector is off and nothing is loaded, then SCREEN OFF, ON SCREEN, BLACK SCREEN…),
- in the middle — the connection: Online · live sync or Offline. Click it to sync right away. Changes from the web and phones arrive within a second.
- on the right — the previous and next slide buttons, the Black, Clear and Logo icons (point at one to see its name) and Go live, which turns into Stop while presenting.
Press
?to see the list of all keyboard shortcuts.6. Updates
The app checks for and downloads updates by itself. When a new version is ready, you'll see WorshipPro … is downloaded. and two buttons:
- Restart now — installs right away (doesn't work during a presentation),
- Later — installs when you quit the app.
To check by hand: Settings → About → Check for updates. The version number is there too — include it when you report a bug.
7. After a crash
If the app closes during a service, you'll see a bar at the top when you start it again: “Found an unsaved session… Restore it?”. Click Restore session — the item and slide from before the crash come back. If the status bar says SCREEN OFF, the projector is off: click Go live (or press
F5). The plan doesn't resume by itself: to carry on through the plan, click the next item in the Plan panel. The bar also shows after a normal quit if something was loaded — then click Discard. What's next
